The pop-up exhibition and performance is based on a video by blanche the vidiot titled
“what is wrong?”, which is the sixth piece of their video series “how to get rid of ourselves /
how to achieve liberation on our own?”. The series, with a playfully serious ambiguity in its
title, attempts to explore, mostly by means of video art, the questions of – conscious,
political, and artistic – freedom, liberation and emancipation. The questions of individual and
collective freedoms, the ones only we can achieve, but not only for ourselves. The forms of
inclusions, exclusions and outcastings are, of course, as numerous – if not infinite – as the
possible directions of liberation. As to how art can be used to aim at liberation in its
innumerable forms, the artist must be particularly careful and modest, at the same time
unquestioning, since “delusions are inexhaustible” and “the awakened way is
unsurpassable”. In a self-reflective, but not too serious way, the current video provocatively
explores the problem of self-identity in a broad sense: how do we project ourselves onto
the world, and how is that reflected back onto us – creators, audiences, and the whole

artistic community? Or, asking from the perspective of social media use and an idealized
self-image in a simple and honest way, still recognizing the difficulty and complexity of the
matter: if everything is fine, what is wrong than? The performance, based on improvised
elements and an installative space furnished with photographs and objects enframe the
video as a kind of expanded cinema. Dániel Gyöngy takes part in the performance as a very
special guest.
